'Tubelight' box office collection Salman-starrer fails to meet fans expectations one of the slowest to join coveted 100 cr club

Salman Khan starrer 'Tubelight' which is happened to be one of the most awaited movies of the year, has failed to get a monstrous start unlike other Salman Khan flicks. Though the movie has managed to enter the coveted 100 Crore Club only after six days of its release, it has disappointed million of hearts. Hence, it is nothing new to inform that the war drama is one of the slowest movies in crossing the Rs 100 Cr mark. Being described as one of the biggest debacles of Salman Khan's career, the Kabir Khan film amassed around Rs 114.50 Crore in two weeks whereas it needs to earn Rs 300-350 Cr minimum in order to make any profit. 'Distributors have bought the film at high prices considering how Salman Khan’s film performs on Eid. They were expecting the film to do an overall box office business of Rs 300-350 crore so that they can make profit,' trade analyst Girish Johar was quoted while interacting with reporters. 'The public has not gone to watch the film. Had they liked Tubelight, people would have gone to watch the film after Eid. So I don’t think the absence of any big movie this weekend is going to benefit Salman Khan film,' he stated further. According to source, some distributors may also suffer a loss of around Rs 50-70 Cr on the film. While, 'Tubelight', the war drama was expected to beat Salman's last release 'Sultan' by garnering a humongous collection, quite surprissingly it has failed to surpass the former. Earlier famous biz analyst Taran Adarsh took to twitter to share the first day collection of Salman's last five releases where 'Tubelight' had the least first day earning, while 'Sultan' topped the list. Though, in terms of box office collection the movie has broken hearts of many, Dabang Khan once again managed to impress the audience with his acting ability. The movie is expected to face another set back with the release of a bunch of interesting movies like 'MOM', 'Guest Iin London' and 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' on Friday. Set against the backdrop of the India-China War of 1962, 'Tubelight' is a tale of two brothers and their unconditional love and faith in life. After giving block buster hits like 'Ek Tha Tiger' and 'Bajrangi Bhaijan', Kabir Khan has reunited with Salman for the third time in 'Tubelight'. Also starring chinese actress Zhu Zhu, Sohail Khan, late actor Om Puri, child actor Matin Ray Tangu, 'Tubelight' is said to be Salman's Eid gift to his fans and followers. Lets have a look to the first week collections of other Salman Khan flicks which have hit the screens in recent past.
