Manushi Chhillar brings Miss World 2017 crown to India Indian beauties who went on to win the coveted title

India's Manushi Chhillar grabbed the Miss World 2017 beauty pageant and the win came after a long wait of 17 years when Priyanka Chopra brought home the coveted title in the year 2000. Manushi, a 20-year-old from Haryana, who had won Femina Miss India 2017 earlier this year, was competing with 118 contestants from various countries at the Miss World 2017 event which was held Sanya City Arena.

Miss World 1966, the 16th edition of the Miss World pageant saw first Indian to win the international title. Reita Faria, a student of medicine just like Manushi, marked India's stint with beauty at an international level.

In 1994, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, stunned India and the world and became the second Indian to bag the Miss World crown. An architecture student at that time, she subsequently chose to try her hand at acting and went on to became one of the most successful actress in Bollywood.

Diana Hayden went ahead and became the third Miss India World. She won the 'Femina Miss India' title in 1997 and the 'Miss World' title the same year.

Miss World 1999 saw another Indian make her mark, Yukta Mookhey bagged the coveted title and tried her hand in acting, however, Bollywood career was short lived, with her movies failing at the box office.

Now, an international face, Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World crown in the year 2000 and is certainly the most successful actress not only in Bollywood but Hollywood too.
