What makes the expectation of these engines even brighter is the fact that the engine from the Street Triple RS will be given for Moto2 world championship starting 2019 under the company’s three-year contract. The only thing remaining unchanged is the outgoing model is the chassis, which will be fitted to a different swing-arm.
Triumph has opened retail bookings for the 2017 Street Triple 765, with the minimum token fixed at Rs 1 lakh, according to reports. The launch date of the 2017 Street Triple S has now been decided for June 12 this year. The Speed Triple which will be available in three trims, S, R and the RS. However, only the S variant will be launched of the Triumph on the 12TH and the next two trims in line will be launched in the coming months.
For those of you who have yet to know about the new to the triumph the 2017 Speed Triple will realize isn’t any other common update. Triumph has invested a lot of time and research and the result is an all-new motorcycle. The Speed Triple will have many new features including, ABS (Anti-Brake Locking System), a ride by wire throttle and an advanced traction control system, that feature multiple riding modes and, can be switched off entirely.
Apart from this, Triumph has got rid of the analogue dials and in their place, has a fully revised LCD instrument cluster. However, the Street Triples unique feature is the new 765cc mill which is roughly adapted on the based on the existing 675 motors. Press the starter, and you will have a wonderful 111 hp and 71 Nm of torque, to get you around on the S model. The R is expected to make 116 bhp and produce 75 Nm of twist. The mental RS raises the stakes even further, making 121 bhp with the same torque as the R.
The 2017 Triumph Street Triple S is set to compete with likes of the upcoming Ducati Monster 797 and most probably be priced at around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom).
