The theme is build around government's digital India programme whose aims it boost manufacuring sector in India, the country needs to increase its energy resources without compromising on the environmental aspects.
International Trade fair 2016 kickstarted with great fanfare on Novembe 14. This year's edition of the mega trade fair with 'Digital India' theme is being held between November 14-27, in the national capital. The trade fair was inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee, who in the openining ceremony had observed that "digital technologies, e-commerce, e-enabled and mobservices are major components of e-governance and will over the time contribute significantly to GDP growth."
This year, the India International Trade Fair has over 150 companies who have participated from 27 countries. The 36th International Trade Fair has kicked off for trade and business persons, with 7000 participants in an exhibition area of more than 1 lakh square metre.
This year trade partner is South Korea. The trade fair is the potpourri of cultures from various states, will showcase a potpourriof Indian handicrafts and handlooms. All this is driven by the Make in India initiativefrom traditional waistcoats of the Lotha tribe of Nagaland to coconut shell jewellery of West Bengal and the handcrafted traditional saris from Orissa, there’s a lot to choose from.
To boost more footfalls, the ongoing international trade fair is now just a touch away as India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), under the commerce ministry said it has developed a mobile application to provide all details including contact access to exhibitor list, generation information.As part of this programme, ITPO has for the first time introduced online space booking system. Online sale of tickets has also been mainstreamed for all days of India International Trade Fair (IITF), it said
