Cyclone ‘Fani’: Here are do’s and don’ts during calamity

Cyclone Fani on Tuesday intensified into a severe cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal. The Meteorological Department has issued a high alert and has asked fishermen not to venture into the sea. The Ministry of Home Affairs on the decision of the National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC) released financial assistance of Rs. 1086 crore to four states in advance. The Indian Air Force in a tweet said that it is ready to provide assistance to the people of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh & Tamil Nadu in the advent of Cyclone Fani. While the authorities declared high alert in the state, it is important to take some precautions to ensure minimum loss of life and goods as the storm passes.
