The ongoing strike by the West Bengal doctors has sparked massive protests across India with major hospitals in various cities holding solidarity marches on Friday. It is to be noted that several medical bodies including the Indian Medical Association (IMA) had called doctors' strike across the country to protest over rising violence against the medical fraternity after a junior doctor of Nil Ratan Sarkar (NRS) Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata was allegedly attacked by the relative of a patient who died on June 10.
