In Pictures: Modi government 2.0 holds its maiden Cabinet meeting, take path-breaking decisions

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his 57-member Council of Ministers was sworn in by President Ram Nath Kovind for the second consecutive time, the new NDA government held its first Union Cabinet meeting on Friday. In his first decision after assuming office, PM Modi approved a hike in scholarship given to widows and wards of deceased or ex-service personnel of armed and paramilitary forces from the National Defence Fund and extended its ambit to include wards of state police officials martyred in terror or Maoist attacks. The schedule for the first Parliament session of the 17th Lok Sabha has been also announced followed by the cabinet meet of the Narendra Modi government. The Budget Session of the Parliament will be held between June 17 and July 26, with the regular budget to be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on July 5.
