Jeep Compass launched in India: All you need to know

America's leading SUV and crossover manufacturer Jeep launched its first locally assembled SUV, the Compass in India on Monday at a starting price of Rs 14.95 lakhs. The top end model of the compass is priced at Rs 20.65 lakhs. The bookings of the Jeep Compass have already begun at their respective dealerships at a token amount of Rs 50,000. The SUV maker had hit the Indian roads with its Grand Cherokee and Wrangler models earlier in the year.

Variants of JEEP Compass

Compass would be offered with over 50 safety features and have three variants, Sport, Longitude and Limited. The Compass would initially come with a diesel as well as a petrol engine option, wherein the former would be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission while the latter would have an automatic gearbox. For the all-wheel-drive variants, the Compass would have different terrain modes, Auto, Sand, Mud and Snow.

Engine of Jeep Compass

The 2.0-litre Multijet II diesel engine offered in the Jeep Compass will generate 172 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque. This engine would be initially available with a 6-speed manual transmission and will have a claimed fuel efficiency of 17.1 kmpl.

Colours in which Jeep Compass is launched

The Compass would come out in five colour options, Vocal White, Brilliant Black, Hydro Blue, Minimal Grey and Exotica Red.

Safety features in the Jeep Compass

Safety features in the Jeep Compass would include cornering fog lamps, six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Passive Entry, Reverse Parking Camera and Electronic Parking Brake.
