Jeep Compass set to launch in India on July 31; available in five variants

American automobiles brand, Jeep is all set to launch its first made-in-India model, the Compass, on July 31, 2017. The SUV that is expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 22 lakh, ex-showroom in India, will be available with two engine options – a 2.0-litre 172hp 350Nm diesel and a 1.4-litre MultiAir turbo-petrol. The model will be on sale in five variants and here is a break-up of what each variant of the Jeep Compass have in store for you to offer:

Jeep Compass Sport: It would feature 16-inch steel wheels, halogen headlamps, incandescent or conventional tail lamps and all-black interiors, along with a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an electronic parking brake. As per the viewpoint of safety it will offer dual front airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), all disc brakes, Electronic Stability Control and traction control. It will be available in both engine options, but paired only with a manual transmission.

Jeep Compass Longitude: Unlike the Sport variant, Longitude would be offering only 2.0 litre Multijet II diesel engine. It will feature front fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry with push button start-stop, rear parking sensors and dual tone interior.

Jeep Compass Longitude (O): It offers a 7.0-inch infotainment system (U-Connect) with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Not only that, it would also have projector headlamps and a rear parcel tray.

Jeep Compass Limited: This version would be available in both engine options with both transmission options although the diesel engine would not be offered with an automatic gearbox right now. The company would eventually introduce a diesel automatic version. It will also feature SelecTerrain 4WD all-wheel-drive system, LED tail lamps, rear camera, door sill guards, as well as six airbags which include dual front, side and curtain airbags.

Jeep Compass Limited (O): This top-of-the-line variant which will only have two minor changes over the Limited version. These include HID headlamps and a contrast black roof.
