Know Gauri Lankesh voice of dissent
Senior Journalist Gauri Lankesh was shot dead on Tuesday after some unidentified assailants opened fire outside her residence in Banglore.She was the editor of Lankesh Patrika weekly a Kannada tabloid.This paper runs without any advertisement.She raises her voice against all communal forces.A rational thinker Gauri was vocal on secularism, the rights of Dalits, the downtrodden and women. Her father was a thinker and writer, he was the one who started 'Lankesh Patrika' in 1980.

Lankesh had been vocal against the right wing and last year she was convicted in a case which was filed by BJP MP Pralhad Joshi who had raised objection against a report on BJP leaders.She had also criticise Indian National Congress leader D. K. Shivakumar.
