New Rs 200 note
The new Rs 200 notes were launched by the RBI on Friday itself. For the first time in history, a Rs. 200 note has been released by the government. Further, since demonetisation too place in November 2016 and old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes were banned, the Rs. 200 note is the fourth new note to be released by the govt. Let's have a look at some features of the new note:

The base colour of the note is bright Yellow and it has other designs, geometric patterns aligning with the overall colour scheme, both at the obverse and reverse.

The size of the new Rs 200 note is 66mm x 146mm. Further, it notes bears a motif of the Sanchi Stupa monument that depicts India’s cultural heritage and also has the Ashoka Pillar emblem.

A portrait of Mahatma Gandhi can be seen in the centre of the note and Rs 200 is inscribed in colour-changing link. The security threat has inscriptions ‘Bharat’ and RBI. When the note is tilted, the colour of the thread changes from green to blue.
