A fresh round of heavy snowfall in parts of Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand has intensified the cold conditions in the northern region of the country.
The temperature dipped further with fresh snowfall in Shimla and upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh threw normal life completely out of gear.
With snowfall in different areas of Kashmir, the valley is looking more beautiful than ever in the season. Tourists are also thrilled as a large number of them are planning visit to northern valley of the country.
Meanwhile, the snowfall has also brought cheers to local residents in Shimla as the scenic beauty and views in the area are pretty scintillating and picturesque.

Mercury has dropped sharply with Shimla and Bhuntar recording a low of 0.2 degree as the snowfall ended a three-month long dry spell.
Its a good news for apple growers as it is considered white manure for the produce. It will also be beneficial for the Rabi crop.
Traffic has been suspended on Kullu-Manali road. Rohtang Pass and adjoining areas are covered under 60 cm thick snow.

The famous health resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir, which serves as a base camp for the annual Amarnath Yatra, received 3.5 cm of snow and the mercury registered a low of minus 3.2 degrees Celsius.
Leh in the frontier region of Ladakh was the coldest recorded place in the state with a low of minus 10.1 degrees Celsius, while the nearby Kargil town registered the minimum temperature of minus 4.8 degrees Celsius.
