Snow envelopes North India

Badrinath and Auli in Chamoli district were covered under layers of snow but none of the highways got obstructed.

In Jammu and Kashmir, intermittent snowfall continues in the Valley

Owing to snowfall at most places, the authorities have suspended traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway - the only all weather road link connecting Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country.

Normal life is being affected in Himachal Pradesh as well with tribal belt and other higher hills in the state receiving another spell of snowfall.

Most parts of north India have been witnessing snowfall and rains

Most areas in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are receiving snowfall and rains.

The heavy snowfall has forced closure of some major road links even as temperatures rose in other parts of north India.
