Thailand Cave Rescue Four boys out major challenges ahead

A football team of 12 kids along with their coach went missing a few days back and after searching for 10 days they were found alive in a flooded cave in Thailand’s Tham Luang. The local official found their locked bicycles and football boots outside the entrance. A video was shared by Royal Thai Navy Seals in which the boys were visible sitting in their baggy football shirts pulled over their knees, asked for food and wanted to leave the cave immediately. The rescue operation to extract all the 13 persons trapped in Tham Luang caves for over two weeks began on Sunday after the rescuers were fully prepared for the operation.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Narongsak Osotthanakorn said that it is the best time to evacuate the boys and their coach of the cave as the water level at many spots is quite low.

13 medical teams were waiting outside the cave along with the helicopters and the ambulance, one for each boys and their coach. On the first day of the operation, four kids were safely rescued and evacuated from the Tham Luang cave. The health of the evacuated boys is perfect, says the rescue chief.

According to rescue chief Osotthanakorn, the operation to be continued on Tuesday after a gap of 10-20 hours. The rescue workers will now need another 10-20 hours to prepare for the next phase of the operation.

Addressing a press conference in Thailand, Narongsak said four boys had been evacuated safely and sent to Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital ao far. The remaining nine are still inside the cave and will be evacuated during the second phase of the operation on Monday morning.
