Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday visited the flood-affected Gorakhpur district and distributed food material to the locals. The flood situation not only in Gorakhpur but in the entire state has worsened. Till August 18, death toll was 36 and almost 1.5 million people were affected in the state. Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister launched 'Swachh Uttar Pradesh, Swasth Uttar Pradesh' campaign and broomed a street in Gorakhpur's Andhiyari Bagh locality. While addressing the people, he targeted former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi saying “I feel that the ‘shehzada’ sitting in Lucknow… Yuvraj sitting in Delhi will not know the importance of this cleanliness campaign. They will come here to make it a picnic spot, we cannot permit it.”
