Sunil Gavaskar 

In 1971, Team India faced West Indies and conquered to get a global recognition. The winning side introduced young 21-year-old Sunil Gavaskar to the world, who smashed nothing less than 774 runs in the 5 matches. Sunil Gavaskar scored 124 in the first innings and then followed it up with a masterly 220 in the second on the final Test match. This remains the highest individual score by an Indian in the West Indies.

Virender Sehwag 

Is Sunil Gavaskar earned fame for his defensive techniques, Virendra Sehwag garnered all praise for his powerful strokes. Virender Sehwag's smashing 180 runs of 190 balls is nothing less than a nightmare for many West Indies bowlers. Though many would argue this as the slow innings of Sehwag but the beautiful inning took India to 588 runs in the first innings. West Indies were bundled out for 215 in their first innings and were made to follow on.

Dilip Sardesai

Dilip Sardesai is the second name that comes after Sunil Gavaskar, who was very dependable man for Team India. His innings of 212 in the very first match of the series set the ball rolling as far as the Indian team is concerned. "He showed us how to play fast bowling, and in doing so gave us the confidence we needed to beat the West Indies. One of his great strengths was that he was always very positive, and he spread that through the team", Gavaskar had said after the game.

Harbhajan Singh 

Famous as 'The turbanator', Harbhajan Singh is remembered for his mater bowling act against West Indies in 2006. In four match Test series, first three ended in a draw and the pressure rose for the curators to prepare a sporting wicket which would produce results.It was a bowling paradise and India were knocked over for 200 in their 1st innings. In reply, Harbhajan Singh was the wrecker-in-chief as he picked up 5 wickets for 13 runs. Team India bagged 49-run victory in the game.
