The iconic Swiss player had missed the French Open as he aimed to prepare for the grass court championship. Federer praised his opponent Marin Cilic whom he defeated in straight sets 6-3, 6-1, 6-4. Overall, the Swiss champion has won the coveted Wimbledon in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2012 and 2017.

Pete Sampras (US) Titles Won - 7

Former World No. 1 and US tennis legend Pete Sampras was the first man to win 14 Grand Slam singles titles (seven Wimbledon, five US Open, two Australian Open). He also won seven year-end championships and finished six consecutive seasons (1993–98) ranked the best in the world.

The iconic tennis star won the Wimbledon Singles Championship in the years 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000.

Bjorn Borg (Sweden) Titles Won - 5

Björn Rune Borg is a Swedish former world No. 1 tennis player widely considered to be one of the greatest in the history of the sport.

Between 1974 and 1981 he became the first man in the Open Era to win 11 Grand Slam singles titles (six at the French Open and five consecutive at Wimbledon).

He also won three year-end championships and 15 Grand Prix Super Series titles. The legendary player had won the prestigious Wimbledon in 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979 and 1980.
