Three asteroids dubbed as '2019 OD', '2015 HM10' and '2019 OE' are all set to approach dangerously towards Earth on Wednesday (July 24, 2019). Well, it is worth mentioning here that there is no need to panic about these three asteroids because the space rocks are likely to fly past the Earth and we are fully safe. In recent times, we all are hearing about asteroids going passed through the Earth. It is to be known that the asteroids, if hit Earth, can cause massive destruction on the planet and harm humans. Well, we were fortunate as these deadly asteroids did not collide with the Earth.
Latest Updates: STAY ALERT! Three asteroids to pass so close to Earth today at THESE timings
Asteroids are small, rocky objects that orbit the Sun. Although asteroids orbit the Sun like planets, they are much smaller than planets. Though, asteroids can be extremely dangerous for the Earth and for human kinds too. The asteroids can approach towards the Earth due to the gravitational forces that affect them. Therefore, our fortune can be turned into misfortune anytime. But for now, we are safe.

Asteroid 2019 OD
Asteroid 2019 OD is an Apollo-type Near-Earth Object or NEO. According to the NASA, asteroid 2019 OD will fly past the Earth on Wednesday afternoon from 219,375 miles away. That figure may seem pretty high but in terms of flying space objects that approach Earth it is a fairly close distance.
Asteroid 2019 OD was spotted just three weeks ago. NASA’s asteroid trackers estimate the space rock will close in on Earth around 7:01 pm (IST) on Wednesday. The giant asteroid will come hurtling by closer than the Moon, but it won’t hit the Earth.

Asteroid 2015 HM10
Asteroid 2015 HM10, which is a second largest asteroid and could be up to 361 feet wide, will also approach towards the Earth on Wednesday. It is travelling at 21,240 miles per hour but will be just under three million miles away when it passes our planet at around 7:00 pm (IST).
Asteroid 2019 OE
The third and final asteroid to approach Earth on Wednesday will be 2019 OE, which will be 597,706 miles away. It will be travelling the slowest out of this group of space rocks with a speed of 20,160 miles per hour and is the smallest as its largest possible size is predicted at 171 metres wide. It will whiz past the Earth at around 8:05 pm (IST).

NASA said: “Near-Earth Objects (NEOs) are comets and asteroids that have been nudged by the gravitational attraction of nearby planets into orbits that allow them to enter the Earth's neighbourhood.

“Composed mostly of water ice with embedded dust particles, comets originally formed in the cold outer planetary system while most of the rocky asteroids formed in the warmer inner solar system between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter,” it added.
According to a report of spacetelescope.org, there are more than 700 000 asteroids that have been found in space. It further added that asteroids are mainly found in an area called the ‘main belt’, between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.
