While earlier studies, showcasing several spooky artefacts and mysterious objects had raised controversies over the existence of aliens, Atacama, a mummified skeleton, discovered in Chile's Atacama Desert 15 years ago gave birth to some fresh rumours yet again.
The skeleton does not look like anyone we have ever met and is much identical to those fossilised remains of aliens. The 6 inches tall skeletal conundrum has 10 pairs of ribs while the age of its bones was consistent with a child aged 6 to 8 years.
"Ata is one of the rarest we have ever observed, being only 6 inches and having this advanced bone age," said co-author Sanchita Bhattacharya, a bioinformatics researcher at the University of California at San Francisco.
"This is a super rare human phenotype," Bhattacharya stated.
Though average human beings have 12 pairs of ribs rather than 10, further investigations by a group of UFO hunters have left everyone stunned. The story told by its genes showed that its a human fetus, a previously unidentified primate or one with multiple bone disease-associated mutations.
The skeleton, dubbed Ata was first discovered in a deserted mining town called La Noria in the year 2013. While It was thought to be an ancient life form, initial analysis conducted in 2012 proved that the skeleton was only about 40 years old. These widespread speculations further drawn attention of senior author Gary Nolan and after a few studies he confirmed that it has human DNA.

Though 8 per cent of Ata’s DNA did not match with human initially, further analyses with better samples matched up to 98 per cent.
There are also reports that Ata was possibly the mummy of an alien.
However, the latest findings, based on five years of genomic analysis was first published in the journal Genome Research on Thursday and will further help to diagnose genetic mutation-based cases for living patients.
"We were able to look at all the mutations that were in this individual," said Garry Nolan from Stanford University.
"And everybody is born with mutations. This person just happened to roll snake eyes. Now we know that there's something about this particular set of genes that leads to rapid bone growth," he added further.
Ata was earlier featured in several Television shows and a documentary, titled Sirius, in which UFO researcher attempts to figure out Ata's origins. However, Nolan and his group are currently gearing up to return to Chile and give Atacama skeleton the burial it deserves."
