Stephen Hawking had recently suggested that human beings must leave Earth in 100 years in order to survive as he claimed that out planet may face doomsday. If his claims turn out to be true, we will have at least three potential recently discovered planets, that can serve as home for humanity.
However, a shocking discovery claims that these planets could already be inhabited, hinting towards a possible alien life thriving beyond Earth.
Astronomers had been searching for alien life in the distant world using NASA’s Hubble telescope. The outer planets may be home to floods of water required to support life, according to latest results from the Hubble Information Centre.
"Hubble's observations are of great significance, since they inform us on the irradiative environment of the TRAPPIST-1 planets, notably on whether they can remain habitable for billions of years, like Earth has,” Team member Dr Amaury Triaud, said.
NASA has now given space enthusiasts an awesome look at what life could be like on these newly found planets.
"This discovery could be a significant piece in the puzzle of finding habitable environments, places that are conducive to life,” NASA associate administrator Thomas Zurbuchen said.
“Finding a second Earth isn't a matter of if but when."
TRAPPIST-1 was first discovered earlier this year and a prominent scholar had even claimed that it was a lost planet called Nibiru.
