If you thought the earth belongs to you, then you may be wrong this time. Scientists have come up with a new theory that will surely leave you awestruck. They have concluded that life on earth came from another planet, as it smashed into our earth and ultimately become the moon.
So, does that mean we are all aliens on this planet earth? Well, yes and no.
According to a study published in Science Advances, authors led by planetary scientist Damanveer Grewal, a graduate student at Rice University points towards evidence that the essential ingredients for life to evolve on Earth were deposited here after a giant Mars-like planet smashed into our planet while the solar system was still being formed 4.4 billion years ago.
The study also claims that researchers have conducted lab experiments backed by computer simulations that confirm that debris left behind after the impact of Earth and its solar neighbour deposited the essential elements of life on our planet.
If you're wondering if a Mars-like planet smashed into Earth, then why don't we see that planet? Well, that's because the remnant of that planet coalesced to form the moon. Yes, our moon that spins around Earth. Does that mean the moon may have the same life elements locked in? What do you guys think about it? Let’s keep on guessing until we find some answers.
