Two events in night sky stargazers won’t want to miss in August

Several exciting astronomical events will be on display all over the sky from mid to late August. Well, the month of August is pretty stellar for stargazing. Yes, you read it right. Accuweather's Brian Lada highlighted three astronomy events in the month of August. While one event has just culminated, the two others are coming soon. It is to be noted that between August 9 to August 11, Saturn, Jupiter and the moon all fall in line across the southern sky. Well, the upcoming events are Perseid meteor shower and Orion the Hunter returns to the sky.

Perseid meteor shower (Shooting stars) will be at its peak from August 12 to August 13, 2019

Best meteor shower of the year, known as the Perseids or Shooting stars, will illuminate the night sky on August 12. Viewers across the United States will have a chance Monday night into early Tuesday morning, when a dozen meteors per hour and possibly up to 50 or more at its peak are slated to dazzle the heavens after dark.

Orion the Hunter returns to the sky in late August

Late into the month, Orion the Hunter, one of the most famous constellations, will return to the sky. To see Orion, you’ll need to set your alarm clock and look to the east an hour or two before the sun comes up.
