India to miss out August 21 total solar eclipse but here are the ones that will be visible in future

Here is the list of upcoming solar eclipses India can witness

New Delhi:

The United States is set to witness one of biggest marvels of nature: a total solar eclipse, on August 21, 2017. However, India won't get a chance to witness this rare historic phenomenon till 2034.

But all there are many alluring solar events lined up for Indian space enthusiasts to compensate this loss. Here's a list of upcoming solar eclipses and where they will be visible:

Dec 26, 2019: This annular solar eclipse will take place in southern India and Sri Lanka and in parts of the Arab peninsula, Sumatra, Malaysia, Singapore, parts of Borneo and Guam.

June 21, 2020: This one will be visible in northern India, New Delhi, Tibet. Also in the Horn of Africa, the Arabian peninsula, southern Pakistan, parts of China, Taiwan. Above two will be annular eclipses.

March 20, 2034: India will get fortunate at this point of time as it will be able to witness a total solar eclipse, along with Pakistan, China and parts of Africa and the Middle East.

However, taking a heart winning initiative the Delhi-based Science Popularisation Association of Communicators and Educators (SPACE, India) will live-stream the upcoming August 21 total solar eclipse on a YouTube channel for the Indian audience.
