New Delhi :
In a new full scale illustration, NASA has released a stunning images of sun’s magnetic field giving a fresh understanding of how sun’s magnetism works. Captured by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory on March 12, 2016, the image shows the mesmerizing magnetic field of the sun which is constantly changing with the star’s surface and internal movements. Magnetic fields twist and loop into the solar atmosphere, but they remain invisible to the naked eye. According to NASA, the image also shows the bright spots where the magnetic fields are densest.
These are magnetically strong active regions – and many of the field lines link one active region to another. Sun is considered solar system’s biggest star and it has always fascinated the scientists for its properties. In November also, NASA scientists had released a stunning 30-minute video of the sun showing the glowing ball of fire in unprecedented detail.
These powerful magnetic fields influence the space weather, Earthatmosphere toa great extent causing auroras. Learning more about its magnetic field will help scientists to gain a deeper understanding of the nature of space throughout the solar system. Sun has always created curiosity among minds across the globe. Energy is generated through nuclear fusion in the Sun’s core.
