Unique opportunity: Design your robot for moon exploration

In one of its kind opportunity for the youngsters, Lab2Moon, an initiative invites bright minds to come up with different ideas to design a robot that will go to the moon for study.

This initiative called Lab2Moon was launched on Wednesday by TeamIndus, a space technology startup which happens to be among the top three contenders and also only Indian team for Google Lunar XPRIZE.

This Google Lunar XPRIZE aims at inspiring engineers and entrepreneurs from around the world to develop low-cost methods of robotic space exploration.

For this coveted project, TeamIndus will have to successfully place a robot on the moon's surface that will move around for at least 500 metres and send back high-definition video and images back to Earth.

This initiative is going to be the first time a non-government experiment will fly to the moon since 1976. It seeks to engage with the people by taking a project created by science enthusiasts proposing an idea for the sustainability of life on another celestial body.

Those who are interested and aged between 14 years and 25 years for this challenge can register on L2M.Teamindus.In till August 20. The ideas can vary from small things to examining possibilities in different aspects.
