After unprecedented, bumper victory in the Lok Sabha Polls, biggest question is what exactly is the path of Modi Sarkar 2.0? From economic slowdown to farm distress, the second term of Modi government has to tackle issues at massive scale. At News Nation’s prestigious Hamari Sansad Sammelan today, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar will talk about such crucial points during Session 7. After leading the BJP to a resounding victory in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is focusing on some of the major challenges that need to be addressed in order to fulfil all the promises made by him and his party in the run-up to the polls. Senior party leader and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar will talk about these challenges today. Human Resource Development, Environment, Information and Broadcasting, Parliamentary Affairs and party spokesperson too, Javadekar is the man who has played many roles for his party and government and therefore he is the best person to talk about achievements and challenges of Modi government.
In the run-up to the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the BJP had released its manifesto - Sankalp Patra - which stressed on various factors such as national security, border security, terrorism, farmer welfare, the construction of Ram Mandir and Article 370 among others.
Showing commitment towards fulfilling the promises made in the manifesto, the new Cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi met for the first time on June 1 – a day after taking oath on May 30 - and approved the extension of the PM-KISAN scheme to all 14.5 crore farmers across the country. The extension will cost Rs 87,000 crore a year. A pension scheme worth Rs 10,000 crore, which will benefit five crore farmers, was also announced.
The Rs 75,000-crore Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Siddhi (PMKSS) was announced in the interim Budget under which the government decided to provide Rs 6,000 per year (in three equal installments) to an estimated 12.5 crore small and marginal farmers holding land up to two hectares.
In another major decision, the Cabinet had also approved the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Pension Yojana under which small and marginal farmers will get a minimum fixed pension of Rs 3,000 per month on attaining the age of 60.
These decisions show that the Modi 2.0 government is serious about the prosperity of farmers in the country. Not only this, the BJP government announced several schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Ujwala and others for the common man during its first tenure and now the government needs to ensure that everyone gets benefitted.
