Indian skipper Rohit Sharma on Sunday became the fastest Indian to hit 300 international sixes and the second fastest in the world in international cricket across all formats. Rohit Sharma played a scintillating knock of 111* against Pakistan in the second Super Four Game of the Asia Cup 2018. Rohit became the second-fastest player after Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi to achieve the feat. It took 301 innings for the ‘Hitman’ to reach 300 sixes, while Afridi achieved the milestone in just 276.
In ODIs, Rohit has hit 189 sixes, 89 in T20Is and 43 in Tests, to take his tally to 301 sixes in international cricket.

Other batsmen to achieve this feat are Shahid Afridi, Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum, Sanath Jayasuriya, MS Dhoni and AB de Villiers to hit 300 maximums.
Rohit Sharma also became the third fastest Indian to score 7000 ODI runs and the fifth fastest in the world to do so. The Hitman also became the second fastest player to score 5000 ODI runs as an opener and the second skipper to smash three consecutive half-centuries in Asia Cup.

Apart from this, he also broke numerous records as he became the fifth fastest overall and the third fastest Indian to score 7000 ODI runs, second fastest overall to score 5000 ODI runs as an opener and the second captain to score three consecutive fifties in Asia Cup.
