On day 9, India stole the limelight at the 2018 Asian Games with Neeraj Chopra, a 20-year-old Haryana lad, harvested another record-smashing gold in the javelin throw to continue India's impressive show at multi-event meets. To add glory to the occasion, India's track and field athletes delivered a clutch of medals on the day 9 of Asiad. While Sudha Singh grabbed a silver medal in the women's 3,000 metres steeplechase, Dharun Ayyasamy and Neena Varakil bagged another couple of silver in the men's 400 metres hurdles and women's long jump respectively. Talking about Indian shuttlers, Saina Nehwal settled for bronze in the women’s singles semifinals while PV Sindhu advanced to a historic final on a glorious day for India. Interestingly, Sindhu is the first shuttler to make it to the Asian Games badminton singles final.

With this India's overall medal count has been propelled to 44, including 9 gold, 15 silver and 20 bronze. Meanwhile, day 10 also has a series of exciting matches lined up and the fans are definitely in for a treat as Indian athletes aim to push the prestigious medal tally up at the Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia.

# 11:42 am: Archery - India win silver in Archery Women's Compound Team match after losing to South Korea.

# 10:15 am: Heptathlon - India's Swapna Barman is on top of the chart after a successful attempt in High Jump. Purnima Hembram, on the other hand, finishes fifth.

# 10:05 am: Cycling - India's Deborah and Sonali Chanu fail to qualify for the next round in Women’s Keirin repechage.

# 10:00 am: Squash - India beat Thailand 3-0 in women's team pool match.

# 09:40 am: Squash - India lead 2-0 against Thailand in women's team Qualification match.

# 08:22 am: Athletics - India's Hima Das and Dutee Chand enter Women's 200m semi-finals. Though Hima finished fourth in heat she qualified by times.

# 08:15 am: Cycling - India's Deborah finishes fourth Heat 1 of Round 1 of Women's Keirin to enter repechage round.

# 07:48 am: Boxing - Sonia Lather and Pavitra will be in action as they will try to fetch two more medals for the country.

# 07:43 am: Archery - Indian men and women's team enter compound finals, which assure two medals for India.

# 07:40 am: Badminton - PV Sindhu will fight for the historic gold, which will gift her the title of first Indian shuttler to clinch a gold at Asian Games. Even a Silver medal for Sindhu will be a history for India. The badminton ace will play against Taiwanese player Tai Tzu Ying.
