Venkat Rahul Ragala on Saturday became the fourth Indian weightlifter to bag a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The 21-year-old lifted a total of 338 kg to finish a tense contest.

Earlier in the Gold Coast Games, Manipuri starlets Mirabai Chanu and Sanjita Chanu had grabbed gold medals in the 48kg and 53kg categories of weightlifting respectively.

Whereas in Badminton events, India beat Mauritius 3-0 in the quarterfinals, with Kidambi Srikanth, Chirag Shetty, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Sikki Reddy and Ashwini Ponnappa claiming comfortable wins.

Meanwhile in swimming Indian teenage Srihari Nataraj smashed the National record in backstroke heats and entered semi-finals.
