Indian boxer Naman Tanwar won his Heavyweight (91 kilogram) division bout with a thumping victory over Tanzania’s Haruna Mhando at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast on Friday.

Naman's win over Mhando helped him secure a place in the quarterfinal against Frank Masoe of Samoa.

Tanwar did not break much sweat and dominated the bout from the very start to earn a unanimous 5-0 victory at the Oxenford Studios arena.

The World Youth Championships bronze medallist employed an unorthodox style, keeping his guard down and using his reflexes to avoid his opponent’s punches while hitting on the counter.
