Afghanistan players have shown if there is a will then anything can possible. Almost all Afghan players hail from refugee camps have showcased their talent and skills in the game of cricket. First they earned a place in World Cup 2015 and secured their first win against Scotland also.
Now the Afghan boys are gearing up for the upcoming World T20 to be played in India latter this year. For the first time, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Shahzad and Dawlat Zadran have broken into the top 10 of the ICC T20I Player Rankings.
Shahzad, has jumped 12 places to reach 8th position after scoring 151 runs in two matches played against Zimbabwe. The right handed batsman scored 118 runs of 67-balls in the second encounter and that too highest T20I score ever by a batsman from an Associate Member.
Fast bowler Dawlat Zadran, also entered the top 10 for T20 bowlers for a career best eighth place. The medium-pace bowler bettering his previous best ranking of 10th achieved last year in Zimbabwe.
