Kumble, renowned as an iconic leg-spinner, resigned after India' loss to Pakistan in the Champions Trophy final. As per reports, the resignation happened due to the alleged rift among Kohli and Kumble.

The legendary spinner had claimed that Kohli had reservations about his work 'style' and his extension as the head coach, thus prompting his resignation. He also took to Twitter and revealed the reason behind his decision in a letter.

The Indian cricket fraternity was highly surprised by Kumble's resignation as he didnt' travel with the team to the West Indies.Various big names such as Ravi Shastri, Venkatesh Prasad, Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Richard Pybus and Dodda Ganesh along with Lalchand Rajput are in the fray for the post of India head coach.

The BCCI has already stated that Team India will get its new head coach before their tour to Sri Lanka beginning July 26.
