Hours after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced India's squad for the Asia Cup 2018, Sri Lanka have also announced their 16-man team for the Asia Cup and veteran Lasith Malinga has made a comeback after a year away from the international circuit. Malinga, who has taken 301 ODI wickets have been a daunting force for the batsmen during his peak years. However, the flashy pacer last represented Sri Lanka in the 50-year format on September 3, 2017. 

Apart from Lasith Malinga, Dushmantha Chameera, Dilruwan Perera and Danushka Gunathilaka have also been recalled for the Asia Cup 2018 as Sri Lanka gear up to face Bangladesh in the Group B clash on September 15. They will meet Afghanistan two days later.

Angelo Mathews (captain), Kusal Perera, Kusal Mendis, Upul Tharanga, Dinesh Chandimal, Danushka Gunathilaka, Thisara Perera, Dasun Shanaka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Akila Dananjaya, Dilruwan Perera, Amila Aponso, Kasun Rajitha, Suranga Lakmal, Dushmantha Chameera, Lasith Malinga. 

Asia Cup 2018 is set to start on September 15 in Dubai.
