Left-arm bowling all-rounder Axar Patel on Monday has signed for English county cricket team Durham to play six first-class matches to be played in August.
Axar becomes the fourth Indian player to have joined county cricket. The left arm spinner will follow Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Varun Aaron and Ishant Sharma to play English Championship.
The 24-year-old is unlikely to get a chance to play the test series against England and will polish his skills by playing county cricket.
Axar will make his debut against Glamorgan on August 19 in Swansea.
"Thanks a lot @DurhamCricket for the welcome. Look forward to my first experience in County cricket," Axar Patel tweeted.
The left-arm all rounder has so far represented India in 38 One Day Internationals and have taken 45 wickets. He has also played 11 T20 Internationals with 9 wickets in his bag.
