Babar Azam on Monday broke the record of Virat Kohli by becoming the fastest player to reach the mark of 1,000 T20 international runs as Pakistan smashed 166-3 in the final match of the T20I series against New Zealand in Dubai.
Azam reached the milestone in just 26 innings after he reached 48, breaking the previous record set by Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who reached the 1000-run mark in 27 T20I innings.
The flashy batsman scored 79 runs in 58 balls with seven boundaries and two maximums, while Mohammad Hafeez smashed a 34-ball 53.

Pakistan claimed another T20I series clean sweep in the shortest format of the game as they defeated New Zealand by 47 runs.
Leggie Shadab Khan was impressive as he took 3-30 and New Zealand faltered off for just 119 in 16.5 overs.
Earlier, Pakistan had won the first match by two runs and the second by six wickets and completed the clean sweep by defeating the Kiwis in the final match of the series.
