The BCCI on Saturday announced cash awards for Indian Under cricket 19 team for lifting the World Cup title for the record fourth time. 

The Indian team hammered Australia by eight wickets in the title clash played out at Bay Oval in New Zealand on Saturday. The Indian victory was spearheaded by an unbeaten ton by Manjot Kalra. Chasing a paltry total of 216 runs, the Indians coasted to victory losing only wickets.

India head coach Rahul Dravid has been awarded with Rs. 50 lakhs while the members of Indian team will get Rs. 30 lakhs each and the members of the support staff will get Rs. 20 lakhs each.

The chairman of the CoA, Vinod Rai, said, “I congratulate the U19 team who have made the country proud. Rahul Dravid played his cricket with sincerity and it was pleasing to see the boys uphold the value.

They have been fantastic athletes and even better ambassadors. The boys have done so well, and I am sure they will work hard and climb the ladder and represent the senior team in the future.”

Concurring with Rai, Diana Edulji, member, COA said: "The consistent performance is a testimony to the fact of BCCI’s initiative in nurturing the talent and providing them an environment to the youngsters and perform to their potential. I congratulate Rahul Dravid and his team for returning home with the glittering ICC World Cup.”
