The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced former India wicketkeeper Vijay Yadav’s name as the fielding coach of India A team. Yadav will join the team which is scheduled to tour South Africa.
Yadav played for Haryana in domestic tournaments. He himself confirmed about selection as a Indian A team’s fielding coach.
“Yes, it’s just couple of hours back that I was told about my appointment as the fielding coach of the India A team. The squad is leaving day after tomorrow (July 22nd) but I may have to join a couple of days late. I am now rushing to Mumbai and my paperwork and visa formalities will be completed there,” Yadav told.
Yadav played for India during 1992-93 season. During that period, he played 1 Test and 19 ODIs. He is known for his match-winning cameo of 34 at East London during his debut series in South Africa.
