BCCI likely to change its name soon

The BCCI is all set to change its name in next few days.  The new BCCI president Anurag Thakur has made a hint that the world richest cricket governing body might make a small alteration in its name. The new name will be decided through an opinion poll which will be held by BCCI on its official website.

“Yes, I had put forward this idea in the meeting,” Thakur said. I think the word ‘Control’ should be replaced by ‘Care’. “We want to do away with the word ‘Control.’ We want to care for our fans, players, coaches, selectors, administrators and all the other stakeholders who matter in cricket.”

Anurag Thakur is the first person to raise a voice to alter the name of the cash-rich board in 88 years since BCCI was formed. The matter has just been raised and still has a long way to go before taking a final call on it.

The matter will be discussed at the next board meetings, till the administrators have to make up their mind regarding the change.

As per BCCI website, a total number of 31 associations are current members of BCCI. BCCI is a full member of International Cricket Council (ICC).
