BCCI chief Anurag Thakur today announced that the board will declare the name of the selected Indian coach before the end of the day. The Cricket Advisory Committee comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman interviewed as many as seven shortlisted candidates including former Indian skipper Anil Kumble, Ravi Shastri, Lalchand Rajput, Praveen Ambre, Tom Moody, Stuart Law and Andy Moles.
While Kumble seems to have the edge over the others, the world will come to know by Thursday evening who is going to get the one of the most high profile jobs in Indian cricket.
"We are trying that the name is announced by the end of India's first Annual Cricket Conclave in Dharamsala, which is today. And I hope it is done before the evening," BCCI president Anurag Thakur told reporters.
Earlier, the BCCI received 57 applications for the post and short it down to 21 before handing over the list to CAC that interviewed the candidates shortlisted by them.
