CAC may take call on Indian cricket coach on July 10; Shastri, Sehwag front-runners

Cricket Advisory Council (CAC) may take a call on Team India’s cricket coach on Monday (July 10). According to reports, the coach’s name will be decided by Monday evening and the meeting will be held at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters.

Cricket Advisory Council (CAC) may take a call on Team India’s cricket coach on Monday (July 10). According to reports, the coach’s name will be decided by Monday evening and the meeting will be held at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters.

Ten candidates have been shortlisted by the CAC out of which six will be interviewed on Monday. Ravi Shastri, Virender Sehwag, Lalchand Rajput, Richard Pybus, Phil Simmons and Tom Moody are the selected ones to be interviewed.

The CAC members – Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman will conduct interview for the vacant Indian coach post.

Former head coach Anil Kumble stepped down as coach of Indian cricket team on June 20. The announcement emerged just one day after it was reported that skipper Virat Kohli was displeased with Kumble and had conveyed “strong reservations” over the iconic leg-spinner continuing as the coach to the CAC appointed by the BCCI.
