The Indian cricket team is on a high after becoming the first team from Group B to seal a semi-final berth in the Champions Trophy. They scripted a 8-wicket victory over South Africa at the Oval in London on Sunday on their way to the semis.
Earlier, they thrashed arch-rivals Pakistan by 124 runs and were defeated by Sri Lanka. However, the Indian team topped the group B as they displayed their temperament for big matches and clinically destroyed the Proteas.
The Indian High Commission in London hosted a reception for the Indian cricket team on Tuesday. India will now take on Asian rivals Bangladesh in the second semi-final at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Bangladesh has emerged as giant-slayers in recent times and the Indian players will think twice before taking them lightly.
Some important facts:
1. India is far ahead in head-to-head clashes between the two teams. Out of the 32 matches played, India have won 26 whereas Bangladesh have won only 5. One match, however, didn’t produce any result.
2. The 2007 World cup knock out match is one of the most disappointing ones for India. Bangladesh, considered to be far inferior than India, bowled their much fancied rivals for a total of 191 runs in 49.3 overs. The tigers then showed much heart as they chased down the total with 5 wickets remaining.
