India’s Test cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara reached a career landmark when he amassed 4000 runs during his innings against Sri Lanka in the second Test at Colombo on Thursday.

Pujara reached the landmark in his 50th Test for India. The Saurashtra lad became the third fastest Indian to get to 4000 runs. He has taken 84 innings to accomplish the milestone, only behind Virender Sehwag (79 innings) and Sunil Gavaskar (81 innings). Pujara has scored 4000 runs at a staggering average of just over 52. The dependable batsman has 12 centuries to his name besides amassing 15 half centuries.

Pujara has been the lynch pin of the Indian middle order since the departure of Indian great Rahul Dravid.Pujara has the penchant for scoring big runs courtesy his solid defence and calm temperament.
