Indian National Cricket team coach Anil Kumble on Tuesday sent out prayers for the wellbeing and safety for people after the wreckage caused by Cyclone Vardah in Chennai.
He tweeted a video, expressing his sadness .
Anil Kumble said he was saddened to see the devastation caused by Cyclone Vardah has caused in Chennai. He asked people to support and help each other in times like these.
Earlier he had tweeted,†Enroute Chennai with the team @BCCI. Prayers are with the people affected by the cyclone. Hope everyone is safe now!’
Till now, eighteen people have lost their lives in six districts of Tamil Nadu in rain-related incidents linked to Cyclone Vardah. Team India is in Chennai to play the last test match against England, scheduled from December 16.
The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association confirmed that cyclone Vardah, which swept through Chennai on Monday, damaged some stadium property but did not unduly affect the pitch and outfield at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
