Cricket has witnessed various sorts of interruptions, be it rain, crowd trouble or sightscreen issues which have stopped play from time to time. However, on Friday the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh being held at Air Force Sports Complex in Palam was interrupted for a far more bizarre reason.Â
A major security breach at Palam Air Force ground witnessed a man, who identified himself as Girish Sharma, drive his car onto the field of play and into the pitch during the match.
The man whose Wagon R entered the ground, claimed he didn't see any security and was lost.

After the incident, the match referee examined the pitch and the outfield and concluded that no damage had been reported. At stumps on day 3, Uttar Pradesh had moved to 224/7, leading by 246 runs with one day left to play.
Many international players like Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Ishant Sharma and Rishabh Pant are in action in the match.
The game was initially scheduled to be played at the Feroz Shah Kotla but was shifted out because of the Twenty20 International that was played at the same venue on Wednesday.
