Kevin Pietersen has confirmed that he has finally decided to hang up his boots. The former England batsman took the help of social media to announce his retirement after deciding not to travel with Quetta Gladiators to Lahore for their Pakistan Super League (PSL) playoff.
A flamboyant batsman who often made batting look easy with his unorthodox shot selection, Pietersen was part of England’s 2005 Ashes-winning squad.
Part of 2010 World T20 title-winning team, Pietersen’s England career ended in 2014 when England and Wales Cricket Board decided to sack him controversially.
