Social Media is abuzz with reactions to Indian captain Virat Kohli's hat-trick at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Awards on Tuesday. Kohli created history by becoming the first cricketer to bag all the three individual honours in the ICC annual awards. The 30-year-old bagged the ICC Test, ODI and overall Player of the Year awards apart from being named the captain of the International Cricket Council’s Test and ODI teams of the year following an extraordinary 2018.The Indian skipper has now become only the second player in the history of the game, after former Australian captain Ricky Ponting, to win the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy two years in a row. While Ponting bagged the award in 2006 and 2007, former Australian cricketer Mitchel Johnson had won it in 2009 and 2014.

Kohli has also become the first cricketer to win the coveted trophy along with the ICC Test and the ODI Player of the Year awards. The Indian captain, who guided the team to series win in Australia, also became the highest ODI scorer last year. Kohli scored 1460 runs in 26 matches and slammed six tons.
