New Delhi :
In a huge jolt to the Himalayan nation Nepal, International Cricket Council has disbanded the Cricket Association of Nepal due to government interference that has created a vacuum of cricket leadership.
The apex body took the decision during the annual meeting held at Dubai on Sunday. The ICC said, the suspension will imposed until the board becomes free of government and structured for cricket talent and opportunities in the Himalayan country.
However, due to the government the players will not suffer and the team will continue to take part in ICC events. From last few days, Nepal cricket has been mired in crisis after the National Sports Council had formed an ad-hoc committee to run the board. This followed after Chatur Bahudur Chand was elected as CAN's president without the support of NSC, which is the country's supreme governing body of sports.
