New Delhi :
After the defeat in One Day Series in Australia, India can seek the motivation from the fact that the Men in Blue can claim the top spot in ICC T20 ranking before the World T20, if they can clean sweep Aussies. India is set to play three-match series against Australia on January 26.
If India will win all three T20s, then will bag 120 points from the current 110, while the Aussies will plunge to number eight with 110 points from 118.
The Men in Blue are currently ranked eighth while Australia are at second spot behind the West Indies. Sri Lanka are on third with 118 points.
On the other hand, Kangaroos just need a series win to claim the top spot. In case of a 2-1 win, the Men in yellow will move to 120 points to claim the top spot, and a 3-0 win will put them on 124 points and India on 103 points.
India will remain at 8th place they will lose the series just ahead of Afghanistan in the rankings.
