New Delhi:

India defeated England on Sunday by three wickets in the first one-day interational match at Pune. India was chasing the score of 350 posted by England batting first.

India's chase was helped by Virat kohli record breaking century. kedar Jadav also scored century to keep the momentum of run going. India levels their second-highest chase in ODIs ever.

England had done everything right - put on 350 runs on the board, had the hosts reeling 63/4 until they encountered Virat Kohli's artistry.

27th ODI ton for him but he wasn't alone in this, for a change. After Yuvraj had been unlucky at No.4, leg-glancing one straight to the keeper; after Dhoni had failed to finish the innings, not for the first time of late, in walked Jadhav to smack a 65-ball hundred, an effort that bettered Kohli's.

Kohli and Jadhav not only restructured the innings, they put India within the touching distance of win.  Kohli’s 122 came off just 105 balls with eight shots the fence and five over the ropes. It was Indian captain’s 27th ODI hundred.

Jadhav, who was cramping heavily in the later part of his innings, completed his hundred in 65 balls, which was fifth fastest hundred by an Indian. Overall he took 76 balls for 120 which had 12 fours and four sixes.

India lost Jadeja in the 45 th over but there was no moredrama with Pandya staying till the end. His 40 came off 37with three fours and six.
