New Delhi :
In ODI’s India is facing horrid time in Australia, but in Tests it has grabbed the top spot in ICC rankings. South Africa lost the Test series 0-2 to England which helped India to grab the top spot. Now, India has 110 points, with one point ahead of Australia which is in second place.
It has been over a year South Africa had won a Tests match and that too against eighth-ranked West Indies. Even if they beat England in the fourth Test in Centurion, they will be in third place.
Since January 2015, Proteas have lost five out of nine games, with four draws. They lost badly in India and now lost in home also.
Meanwhile, England is in fifth place after drawn series against New Zealand, regaining the Ashes but demolished by Pakistan in the UAE.
After South Africa tour, England will play against Sri Lanka in May.
India reclaimed the top spot for the first time since 2011. Second placed Australia are scheduled to play two Tests against New Zealand in February 2016 and will displace India if they will win any Test.
Virat Kohli and his men have played some good cricket as first they beat Sri Lanka and then South Africa. The fourth Test win against South Africa was land sliding as India won the match by 337-run which was India's largest in terms of runs in their 83-year Test history.
